What the sources say about this pairing
NETGEAR's ISP-gateway article names bridge mode as the way to use a NETGEAR router with Xfinity.
Router-side steps
- Enable Bridge Mode on the Xfinity gateway first (see the gateway page).
- Then install your NETGEAR or Orbi router; NETGEAR links to a separate article for installing after bridge mode is enabled.
Gateway-side steps
- Open the Admin Tool at http://10.0.0.1 from a device on your home network (you may need to enable Admin Tool access in the Xfinity app first).
- Sign in with username admin and the password on the gateway's bottom sticker (or your own if you changed it).
- Go to Gateway, then At a Glance, and click Enable next to Bridge Mode.
- Connect your own router to a gateway Ethernet port.
This pairing page restates what the ISP and the router maker documented. We haven't tested your exact router model; check its manual for the WAN/Internet port and DHCP settings.

Don't have the router yet? Browse NETGEAR routers on Amazon (affiliate link, opens in a new tab). Check the router's WAN port speed against your plan first.
