AT&T names the BGW210 alongside the BGW320 for IP Passthrough with DHCPS-fixed and a MAC address.

Model numbers: BGW210-700 · Type: Gateway (modem + router)

How to set it up

  1. Open your gateway settings from a computer connected to the gateway and sign in with the Device Access Code printed on the gateway sticker (if asked).
  2. Go to Firewall, then IP Passthrough.
  3. Set Allocation Mode to Passthrough and Passthrough Mode to DHCPS-fixed.
  4. Enter your own router's WAN MAC address in the Passthrough Fixed MAC address field.
  5. Save, then choose Restart Now. Reboot your router (and the gateway if needed) so it picks up the new public IP.

Know before you switch

  • Only one device can be placed in passthrough mode (AT&T).
  • A device in passthrough mode loses the firewall protection provided by the AT&T gateway and gets a WAN IP instead of a LAN IP; other devices on the gateway may not be able to share files with it (AT&T).
  • AT&T's article says 'BGW210' without the -700 suffix.

How sure are we?

Confidence is high. Page names BGW210; the -700 suffix is not named.
