Cox documents enabling Bridge Mode in the Panoramic Wifi Gateway's Admin Tool to use your own router.
How to set it up
- Make sure the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) is not still the default.
- Open the Admin Tool at 192.168.0.1 and sign in (username admin; password on the gateway label, or 'password' if the label one fails).
- Go to Gateway, then At a Glance; next to Bridge Mode click Enable and confirm; the gateway restarts.
- Use your own router in place of the gateway's router.
Know before you switch
- Bridge Mode is not compatible with MoCA services such as IPTV (Cox).
- Bridge Mode is not compatible when fiber delivers service (home has an ONT) (Cox).
- With Bridge Mode on you cannot use Panoramic WiFi and extenders; if extenders are already activated you cannot enable Bridge Mode (Cox).
- cox.com showed a 'Cox is now Spectrum' banner on the day we checked; confirm current status before relying on this page.
