A verified-employee moderator on Spectrum's community said in May 2022 that there are no restrictions on the type of router you can use and no technical changes are needed. Spectrum's own modem/router explainer says Wi-Fi needs a router and a modem. No primary Spectrum support page on bridge mode could be retrieved.

How to set it up

  1. Connect your own router's WAN port to the Spectrum modem's Ethernet port.
  2. Do not expect Spectrum to support the third-party router.
